Important Customer Information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

DECEMBER 30, 2020

This past spring, when the first round of stimulus payments were released, our systems were inundated with online inquiries and calls from customers seeking information about their deposits.  It looks like we will definitely have another round of stimulus payments soon, although the amount is still up in the air.

We appreciate your continued patience with us as we work diligently to provide you with the top notch customer service you've come to expect.  Here are some tips to make sure you have the latest information on your stimulus payment:

  • If you haven't already, make sure you download our mobile banking app.  Setting up transaction alerts (click on an account, go to Alert Preferences, and click Add an alert) for deposits will ensure you never miss a text or email notification of a deposit in your account, without needing to actually log in and check your account.

  • We do not receive individual direct deposit/transactions from the Federal Reserve continually throughout the day.  Instead, we receive blocks, or files, of these transactions.  Although exact posting times vary, there is no need to constantly refresh your online banking session or app multiple times throughout the day, nor can we provide any updated information over the phone about whether or not you will receive a payment on a day if you call multiple times.

At this time, we've not yet seen updated details from the government, but we will be sure to pass along new information as we receive it.

NOVEMBER 13, 2020

At The First National Bank, we are committed to providing superior service to the communities we call home.  During these uncertain times, the health and well-being of our customers and employees remains top priority.  Due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the surrounding areas we have made the difficult decision to close all our banking facility lobbies effective Monday, November 16, 2020.

We will continue to monitor this evolving situation, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into our lobbies as soon as we feel we can do so safely.  Our drive-up windows and ATMs will remain available for you to access your accounts, as well as our full range of internet, mobile, and telephone banking services.

Thank you for your continued trust in The First National Bank.  We appreciate the opportunity to serve you!

AUGUST 31, 2020

All First National Bank lobbies are open to the public.  We will continue using the recommended practices now in place to protect our employees and customers.  These practices are conducting business through our drive ups, ATMs, online and mobile banking, night depositories, and by phone.  We appreciate your patience.

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads throughout the United States, The First National Bank of Allendale has been focusing on what we can do to help contain the virus while continuing to serve the banking needs of our valued customers. Lobby customers will be served on an appointment basis only. You should expect no disruptions when using your debit card. For immediate release:
The safety and health of our community, including our customers, employees, and shareholders, is always of the utmost importance to The First National Bank. As such, we are taking the concerns associated with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously and are closely monitoring this rapidly evolving situation.

We are following the advice of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and want to keep you informed on the immediate steps we are taking to help prevent the spread of the virus. We encourage everyone to follow the personal hygiene recommendations made by the CDC. We are maintaining our cleaning practices and adding additional disinfectant procedures in all our locations to support a healthy and safe environment. As of today, all of our locations, including lobbies, drive-ups, and production offices, remain open.

We will continue to actively review the direction provided by the CDC as well as local government officials, and will update you on the actions we are taking. We will post updates here and on our website regarding any temporary closings. In addition, we would like to remind all of our customers of our electronic banking options, including internet banking, mobile banking, and mobile deposit, which allow you to accomplish many banking tasks without a trip into one of our locations.

We appreciate the continued trust of the communities that we serve. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
